Richard H. Ong, CPA

Richard H. Ong was born and raised in the Kansas City area and graduated with honors from the University of Notre Dame in 1977, earning a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a concentration in Accounting.

After joining the international accounting firm of Coopers and Lybrand (now PricewaterhouseCoopers), Richard successfully completed the certified public accountant examination in 1977. He now holds current permits to practice in the states of Kansas and Missouri.

Ong struck out on his own in 1982 and his private practice has grown to include over 1,000 individuals and businesses concentrated primarily in the greater Kansas City area. He maintains primary client contact responsibility for each and every client to maintain the high quality standards of the Firm.

Melissa J. McQueen, CPA

Melissa McQueen earned her accounting degree from the University of Illinois where she graduated with high honors in 1988.

Most of her career has been in public accounting in Illinois, California and Kansas where she has performed compilations, audits and reviews.

She has prepared tax returns for various business entities and individuals and has served as controller and financial analyst for local companies.

Shelley K. Staehr, CPA

Shelley K. Staehr was born and raised in the Kansas City area and graduated from the University of Kansas in 1988, earning a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Accounting.

After spending a few years with the international accounting firm of Deloitte and Touche, LLP, in Kansas City, Shelley worked for a local telecommunications company in the areas of internal audit and operations, as well as with another Johnson County CPA firm before joining Ong and Company in July 2010.

Shelley has completed the training and testing required to be an Intuit Certified Quickbooks Professional Advisor.

Lindsay M. Dilley

Lindsay Dilley was born and raised in the Kansas City area and received a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Kansas in 2010.

Lindsay is currently pursuing a Master’s of Accounting degree at the University of Kansas and will test to become a Certified Public Accountant after graduation. She began working at Ong and Company in January 2009 as an intern, and is now part of the full-time staff as an accountant specializing in payroll.

Lindsay is an Intuit Certified QuickBooks Professional Advisor.

Michael Scott

Michael Scott is the most recent addition to the Ong and Company staff. After receiving a Bachelor’s degree in Business and a Master’s degree in Accounting from the University of Kansas, Michael started working at Ong and Company as an intern in 2010 and has recently joined the team full time.

Michael is an Intuit Certified QuickBooks Professional Advisor and is currently working towards earning his CPA license.
